Local Proclamation Day on Sunday 11th September
09/09/2022
Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II there are certain protocols that must be followed.
Tomorrow, Saturday 10th September, the Accession Council will meet to make a formal proclamation of the accession of King Charles III.
On Sunday, the Chair of every council in the land, including Parish Councils, is also required to deliver a similar proclamation at 3:30pm. In Calvert Green, this will happen outside the village hall.
The Parish council will also lay a wreath in the memorial garden, and anyone wishing to leave a floral tribute is welcome to leave it in the memorial garden where they will remain until the day after Her Majesty's funeral.
We are hoping our Book of Condolences will arrive in time for Sunday, but we will communicate when and where it will be available after Sunday.
